Owen's Birthday

Owen is the big 2 now. His birthday was the day after Brian got home from his week-long trip and the day before we moved to our house. We still managed to fit in his birthday party when Brian came home for lunch.

We conveniently got the perfect truck from Brian's grandma's house, so I didn't even have to buy a truck for his truck cake.

Owen got a lawn mower that blows bubbles. I was debating about getting him a Little Tykes basketball hoop, and I'm glad I didn't. The lawn mower is much loved and much smaller.

We moved into our house.

Owen has been busy closing himself into small spaces.

Look how green the lawn is. I just said to Ben today that I forgot how much it rains when you don't live in the desert.

The same day as Owen's birthday was the branch temple trip. One night the sisters went down, and the next night the brothers went down. It worked out pretty well except that we were each gone from 4pm-midnight the days we were trying to move. Our temple is the Winter Quarters Temple, which I really like. It has some really cool historical paintings and stained glass.

A New House

We finally closed on our new house. And by we, I really mean me since Brian wasn't even in the state. I had to sign for both him and me while our realtor basically babysat the kids.

I tried to take a picture of the kids in front of the house, but I had my finger over the lens. Oops.

But, we have a house now, and when Brian gets back we can move in. It's about time since having the kids share a bedroom isn't working out well. Owen has been going to sleep on my bed, and I've been moving him down to his crib when I get ready to go to bed. They still wake each other up before 6 am every morning. The past few mornings Camille has been wearing her witch's costume and Owen his rain boots both running around wildly when I go down to yell at them for waking up too early encourage them to go back to bed. The poor guy who lives above them...

I have found some little unique gems about our new house that I didn't notice before.

Cool waterfall faucets. Brian says he doesn't like them.

Behind the master closet (which is purple?), there are two more little closets and a little dresser in between the two little closets. I'm guessing someone made the closest bigger by just adding a new long closet in front of the entire wall where the two old closets were.

There is a detached two car garage with this long shed thing attached to the back. We didn't even know there was this other yellow shed back there. Storage galore in this house. Also, this is where I'm planning our garden.

And it came with this little half-grown cat. There are lots of strays around here.

The last few weeks in pictures (and some words)

Owen has been rather difficult lately. He is sure cute though.

Brian had a day off one day when it was warm, so we took a little hike on the bluffs over the Missouri River...

where we yet again failed to get a decent picture.

If you are wondering why Camille is wearing a swimsuit on Easter morning, join the club.

And we didn't get a good Easter picture in our rush to get to church on time.
Owen spent a lot of the train ride doing this, mostly when he was supposed to be sleeping. When he wasn't supposed to be sleeping, he was trying to run up and down the train.

Playing at Grandma and Grandpa Wood's house

Someone had put each grandchild and each great grandchild's name on a flower to put on the casket.

And to end, a picture of Owen licking a bowl.
