I'm pretty sure people from Connecticut are called "nutmeggers."
Very nice post. There really are so many things about the English language that no one really knows. Like your collective nouns (http://www.rinkworks.com/words/collective.shtml) or that there is a word to describe how many decades old you are. If you are in your twenties then you are a Vicenarian.
