There are just some shows that shouldn't have been canceled. Pushing Daisies is one of those. The show is about Ned, a pie-maker with a special gift : he can bring people back to life by touching them. However, he must send them back to the grave by touching them again within sixty seconds, or someone (or something) in near proximity will die. After a rough childhood, Ned brought to life two loved ones at the expense of someone else: his childhood dog Digby and his childhood crush Chuck (Charlotte). The catch is that if he touches them, they will die again. The shows center around a private investigator, Emerson, who uses Ned's abilities to solve murders. The episodes are narrated and magical in a satirically funny way.
So, what makes the show worth watching? The hilarious murder mysteries draw you in, and the suspense of two lovers who can't touch keeps you watching, not to mention it makes the show very clean. Add the colorful colors, appetizing pies, and the jealousy of the waitress who competes for Ned's attention and you have a winner. The only problem is that we only have season one. The show was cancelled mid-season 2. What happens to Ned and Chuck? Do they ever touch? Does Ned turn his attention to Olive, the waitress? What about Digby, the dog? How does the pie shop keep in business?
Overall, I give two thumbs up. And I want to find out if Ned and Chick ever touch.

That's how I feel about 'Notes from the Underbelly.' Never even got to see the darn baby because it was canceled before her pregnancy was over. Sigh....
